As the Senior Expert Service Testingyou will be mainly responsible for accountable and all fixed and mobile residential and business CPE devices including WiMAX modems, 3G/4G modems, fiber modems (ONT), CPE routers/switches and multi-line IADs. You will be acting as SME for device management systems (ACS server system) and responsible for hardware and software development of the platform, working with planning, product and other teams facilitating launch of fixed and mobile CPE devices for various access technology types, creating and verifying device acceptance/certifications tests procedures and perform testing related to RF, LAN, voice, video, service, security and other aspects of the device, supporting operational staff on service related issues directly tied to CPE configurations and evaluating the company’s long term strategy and identify the ***t technology and CPE products meeting Nawras’ residential and business services needs on a continuous basis.
Core Responsibilities:
Your main tasks and responsibilities will be testing the 3G/4G CPEs and evaluate them and suggest the ***t one which is compatible with the network, providing technical report for testing CPE explaining the reason of accepting or rejecting the CPE and dealing with different vendors to ensure the smooth works follow of network/Devices testing and evaluate and acquire new tools from third parties.
You will be responsible for device management system (ACS server system) and well known about ACS and SPU and well know how to configure new CPE in the ACS and SPU, checking with vendor the roadmap of the CPE to aligned with company strategy and requirement, co-operating with planning and operation to ensure the high quality test,preparing/reviewing the technical specifications tests for existing and new technologies, calling for RFI and meet the vendor to know the new solution they have for the company. Verification the device to align it with company plan, providing technical knowledge for establishing a state of art for testing network, devices and roaming to improve the quality of customer perception, participating in project teams to address problems that are having an immediate and negative impact on the organisation, accepting and certificating the CPE and router before launched to the customer and provide certificate report for the CPE, defining the check list to be monitored and observed during the devices tests, providing the recommended solution to resolve the issue and to report the defected devices immediately to operation team and you will be responsible for CPE configuration and prepare guidance on which the customer can configure the CPE, validate network, device and roaming test and produce assessment in any deviation on them.
Responsibilities shall also include the following:
Investigating/exploring, evaluate, test, customise, and qualify CPE vendors and products including OS/features meeting residential and business requirements.
Liaisoning with vendors and identify OS or configuration roadmap
Responsible for creating CPE configurations through testing and guiding/coaching service delivery teams on them.
Defining the check list to be monitored and observed during the devices tests. Provide the recommended solution to resolve the issue and to report the defected devices immediately to operation team.
The Person:
You should have bachelor degree in Engineering/Telecommunications/IT or related fields with below experience:
8 years working expereince in telecom industry
At least 5 years of experience in wireless/wireline IP network related technologies including gateway and routers with sound understanding of OSI layers
At least 2 years of experience in areas of testing customer premise equipment in a service provider environment
At least 1 year of experience in 2G/3G/4G mobile radio (RF) interface testing of devices
Working knowledge of CPE management protocols including TR-069 & OMA/DM
Experience in telecom domain, especially devices from Huawei, Zyxtel and Cisco is an advantage
Any working knowledge of testing tools will be added advantage
Working knowledge of testing IPV4, IPV6, VOIP,SIP, Video, IP Routing, Wi-Fi network interfaces and functionalities of routers and home gateways, switch, LAN/WAN topologies, firewalls, and related equipment.
Experience in creating detailed test cases and implementation of test plans.
Experience in configuring CPE equipment, experience in interoperability issues between vendors CPE and network equipment and troubleshooting of IPV4, NAT, VPNs, VLANs and other layer-2 and layer-3 protocols and technologies
Active knowledge about OS, servers and applications such as DNS, DHCP, AAA, SIP, Streaming servers, Wireshark
Good understanding of triple play concept.
General knowledge of GPON
